Pentagram is the largest independent design agency in the world. First founded in 1972 in London by five men, Alan Fletcher, Theo Crosby, Colin Forbes, Kenneth Grange and Mervyn Kurlansky. It now has twenty one partners and is based in London, New York, San Francisco, Berlin and Austin. They cover many fields of design, for example, architecture, branding, films and books.
Because Pentagram is such a huge company and each partner works on their own particular discipline it doesn't have a very specific style. They produce clean and positive designs that are aesthetically pleasing often including wit and fun. Their focus is creating great designs with commitment, passion and intelligence. Much of their work is diverse and innovative.
Pentagram is very prominent and famous in the design world, working for well known companies such as Tiffany & Co, Dell, Nike, Tesco etc. The work Pentagram does is not all commercial, they also get involved with charities and non-profit organisations.
