Meta Design was founded in 1979 by Erich Spiekermann, Uli Mayer-Johanssen and Hans Ch. Kruger. It is an international design consultancy that works in branding in particular. Over the years the company has grown and now has a huge two hundred and fifty employees, all based in their six offices around the world; Berlin, Beijing, Geneva, Dusseldorf, Zurich and San Francisco.Erich Spiekermann who was one of Meta Designs founders, was a German typographer and designer. He designed the typeface Meta, which has been described as “the Helvetica of the 1990s”.
Meta Design’s aim is to create and recreate brands and identities to give companies stability in the future. They work to combine creativity with fundamentality to achieve this. Their style is germanic-looking and clean. I really love some of their work, they give it a real sense of high-quality and sophistication, which I find really inspiring.
