Barnbrook uses his "design as a weapon for social change", and some of his work is a reaction to the injustice and inequality in the world, his personal opinion of political actions.
A major part of his work is type design. Many of his typefaces are an amazing interwoven mixture of historical styles, like Russian, Greek and characteristics of some classic British type, he created something new by using different sources and letterforms and fitting them all together. I personally think a lot of his typefaces look quite Celtic or Medieval.
