I found Mike Corcoran's talk was quite deep and difficult to get your head around and also I wasn't completely sure in what way I could apply it to any work. Mike is running the gallery exhibition held in the here at Glyndwr; the exhibition is called 'Moving Minds' - hence the title of the talk.
He started his lecture by stating the questions he would be answering - What is the mind? And where is the mind? He said "if we know where it is and what it is we have a better chance of using our own minds to their full potential.
I don't know if i completely agree with Mike's view that the things around us and what we interact with are part of our minds (not that I have studied minds). I do agree that we do depend and rely on a lot of other things rather than our minds, especially in this day and age, but humans were created with intelligent minds made to interact with objects around us in the world, those objects don't become our mind.
