Alec Shepley - The future starts now: working together and making it count

The first lecture of Creative Futures 2016 was given by Professor Alec Shepley, the new Head of the School of Media, Art and Design at Glyndwr University. As he was to begin as the new Head he took the opportunity to share who he was and his ideas and vision for the future of the school with both the students and staff.
While talking about himself he gave examples of his own work and experiences which were both interesting and encouraged me to believe we can pursue even seemingly crazy ideas and gain something out of them.
I noticed he referred to the art movement Dada, as something that inspired and influenced him, which I found really interesting as it relates back to the essay I am presently writing.
He appeared to have big ideas for the university, but knows the values and aims that it already has and respects them. One way you could see this was that he focused on employability (of students) which already appears to be a major aim of the University.
I found his talk thought-provoking and as he broke it down into points it was easy to listen to and follow.
