April Greiman

April Greiman, born in New York in 1948, was probably one of the most influential and inspirational female graphic designers of her time. She attended the Allgemeine Kunstgewerbeschule in Basel, Switzerland, and the Kansas City Art Institute, then went on to work as a graphic designer in New York. In 1976 she moved to California, where she set up a graphic design company and studio in Los Angeles, called "Made in Space, Inc." She also taught at the Philadelphia College of Art.
As she had attended a Swiss school I think this had some effect on her style. Her work is modern yet has a quality of the swiss style as well. A lot of her work is often made up of images and typography in layers, similar to a collage, with a floating feel about them.
